Wow, so what else can I say besides time is ticking by way too quickly! Not only is the time flying by, but little one, you seem to be growing at warp speed! Please, please slow down! Big thing this month--you've cut a tooth! This happened just two days shy of the eighth month mark. It's your top right front tooth. And on the day you turned 8 months, your bottom right tooth also broke the skin! So far no others have broken the skin but I'm sure your other top tooth isn't close behind bc it has a huge bubble on it--so does the other bottom one!
Also a huge development, you are now cruising! You pull up on anything and everything and it is nothing for you to cruise around an object. You also stand and let go, you are far too brave little miss! Not only that but you will get yourself up to a squat and then stand (recent as in this last week). You have no fear. You'll grab a toy while sitting and stand with it still in your grasp. You are an athlete in the making! I think you may be trying to walk before Christmas, but you don't have to rush it! ;)
You are still such a big eater! And this month you tried your first table foods. First was Mims' creamed potatoes. You've also had crackers, fries, sweet potatoes, bread, watermelon, grapes, and apples. (All non baby food variety). You are so into what we're eating too--whenever I'm holding you and eating, you are opening your mouth each time I bring the food towards mine. I want to share, I promise, you're just not ready for that yet.
You are still eating your babyfood. We are doing at least two meals a day, sometimes three. You have added mixed fruits to your diet. Your favorite addition has been banana berry. But you've also tried apple blueberry, apple banana strawberry, and apricots with mixed fruit. You've also added juice this month--you've tried apple and pear and are finally enjoying them to where you'll suck them down without giving the bottle a confused look.
You are also talking more and more. Not only talking but using those little hands to communicate. You can clap and wave! You also said your first meaningful word this month--bye! You constantly says "dada". Also something that sounds a lot like "hey". But I've heard you say "mama" once, and sometimes you say "baba" but those aren't as consistent.
But aside from talking--you are really becoming so social. You think your sister is the most hilarious oerson you've ever seen. You two will play games and it is the sweetest thing to watch. You are also very vocal when you want to be held or changed--you make sure your needs are known! ;)
Likes this month--music! You are such a tiny music lover, Calla Jane. You love to dance to the music your toys make. You also love hearing music from TV shows. Even I'd you are almost asleep, if you hear a song you know those eyes pop open and you're looking around! You also still love your Sophie. And sissy's little toys--it is your favorite when you're able to play with those without her taking them away. You also enjoy your activity table, which we just got down last month.
Dislikes--you've started to hate baths! Whenever we place you in your baby bathtub you have a fit! And when we try to wash your hair, well, that's a no-go too! (But you did like sitting in the big bath the other night so maybe that's the key.) You also don't like your sister being upset. If you hear her in distress, you automatically start in too.
Calla Jane, you have been the biggest blessing to us in these past eight months. You are a complete joy. You've done nothing but add to our family. We love watching you grow and change. Thank you for just being you! We are blessed to be on the ride called life with you and cannot wait to see what the future has in store. We love you baby girl!
