My Littler Talker

Calla is getting so big, y'all. I just cannot stand it! I'm loving watching her grow, but is it too much to ask to keep her little a while longer? Shes only 14 months! She's my baby!!! 

She is one smart little, though. She's already so verbal. She most always talking about something. It's incredible. She mostly uses one word utterances, but she does have some consistent two-word utterances. We have heard her use up to four words though!!! Way to go, baby love!!

That's not even all of them, but as you can see that list was getting pretty extensive! Here are some of her phrases? 

"Where's ______?" (Insert any name or object she can say)

"I poop." (Will say when she toots or poops).

"A baby" (or any other object or person)--used when requesting

"I'm tired"

She probably has more phrases as well but that's all that I can think of right off the top of my head. 

Calla's favorite toys are still primarily baby dolls. She loves to carry them around, play with them, and even snuggle them as she sleeps. A baby doll is a must in the car--just in case she's tired! She also likes snuggling with stuffed animals, mini Lalaloopsies or any other doll, barbies, and a Me Reader book reader we have. 

She also loves her big sister. She doesn't understand why she can't do everything big sister can. She wants to follow her around everywhere, play with her, and basically be just like her. If big sissie spins, Calla has to spin. If big sissie is eating a cheese stick or anything really, Calla has to have the same thing. If sissie is practicing tumble, Calla will bend over so you can help her do her forward roll. If sissie is doing something she's too little to do, she's going to pitch a fit and let you know she doesn't think it's fair she can't participate! 

Calla still loves to eat and drink. That said, she is starting to get into that phase where she's too busy to sit still to eat. There's too much to explore and do, food can wait! She's not a big milk drinker, but she will gulp down chocolate milk. She loves all juices! Her favorite things to eat are gummy bears, berries (most strawberries and blueberries), Mac and cheese, and pizza. She loves to get messy while she eats too. It's not uncommon for her to have pizza sauce up her nose or be squeezing foods in her little fist!

Calla has also discovered all about using the bathroom. She will sit on the potty and use the bathroom and then reach for toilet paper to wipe. She had told me she had to go and I will take her and she actually uses the potty. She will go consistently first thing in the morning. We are by no means pushing this. But if she wants to do it, we definitely won't discourage it! 

Calla is also our little animal lover. She loves dogs and cats both. She always wants to pet them and hug them. She's such a sweetie! 

I also have to say Calla has one of the most expressive little faces! I love watching all the expressions she makes, they will have you laughing and cooing over her for sure! And she's already very dramatic--when she gets hurt, she's going to fake cry just so you'll look. And if she falls down she'll lay in that position, fake crying with an outstretched hand until you help her up! She is definitely a Miss Personality! 

We love our baby girl and watching her grow is one of the greatest gifts. We thank the Lord for our sweet Calla Jane! 

Augustaisms Round 3 of 2015

Back with more delightfully hysterical things my three-year old has said. Unfortunately, I kinda slacked off on writing these down during the summer. Hopefully I'll be better this next time around because I don't want to forget any of these things!! 

Me: "Gammie would love to have a beach house."

Augusta: "Yeah, she would love to have a sand house."

Augusta: "Momma, that's why you have kids, cause they laugh." (Hysterically fake laughing) 

Augusta talking about a toy she always loses..."I'm just clumsy with my churro."

Augusta talking about new baby cousin, "His name is Bush Ethan Red Robins. Okay? Don't say anything wrong."

"Pap just refrusters me!"

"Mom, if Calla doesn't hug me I'm not going to be her friend anymore."

"I like this milk, Mom. I'm chuggin this milk." 

Me, while shopping: "I cannot look with you."

Augusta, proudly: "I know" 

"Momma remember if you get too sweaty the sweat bees will bite you."

Augusta:"Mommy, I don't want triplet Bonnie Berets because that's just complicated."

Me:"what does complicated mean?"

Augusta:"I don't want triplets."

Augusta while texting on my phone, "And I'm gonna pick this one because he's silly. See he's hula hooping!" (Referring to the angel emoji with a halo) 

"No animals allowed at the beach. No kitties, no dogs, no donkeys, no cows."

"Mommy, if you choose that's just getting complicated!"

"But can we get some of these shopkins because I'm about to freak out!!!"

"Y'all stop talking about dinner because it's boring. Y'all just talk about flowers!"

Augusta having trouble pulling up her shorts, 

Me: "what are you going to do when you go to school? Just wear dresses?"

Augusta:"I'm not wearing shorts to school. Just tee shirts and panties!"

"Crackaboo is when you snap claws with a crab and they make you go into the ocean and you have to stay at the beach forever!"

Augusta: "Mom, don't you think dada's the brilliest?" 

Me: "Brilliest? What's that?"

Augusta: "Yeah that means he's as tall as Willie the giant."

Augusta: "Dada is so lisser?"

Me: "What's lisser?"

Augusta: "It means someone who looks like a water tower."

Me: "How about I get you some cranapple while you put your clothes in your drawer?"

Augusta: "No! That's impossible!"

On a day she was sick, "That Mac and cheese and apple sauce really hurt my surgery." (Meaning to say stomach) 

At dinner time, Me: "Calla, eat your chicken, baby."

Augusta, patting my arm: "Mommy, just worry about yourself."

"If someone came to Gammie and Pap's house and TT was there she would freak out, and run up stairs, and hide under the covers!"

"Having fun is fun!"

"You know Calla's all about babies. They're her favorite things."

Beach Vacay 2015

In July we took a family vacation to the beach, Orange Beach, AL to be exact. It was Calla's first time to go to the beach and I'm so glad we got to take her. Such a fun time for all of us and our family too! 

As soon as we got to the beach and checked in to our condo, we hit the beach. The girls loved it. Augusta went straight to the water and played in the waves. She and her daddy went out into the water and jumped waves for over 30 minutes! Calla was more into the sand. She loved the water too, once she was used to it. But she loves grabbing fistfuls of sand more than anything! 

The next morning we hit the beach early. The girls had a ball again--playing in the sand, swimming, and watching Dolphins 

Augusta still enjoyed jumping waves. Calla liked the water too. She acted pretty much the same way she dies at the pool, going back and forth--only this time between eating, playing the the water, and playing in the sand. Calla was so cute pointing to the waves and saying "water!"

We went for lunch at Tacky Jack's. I think it's our favorite restaurant we've tried down there (Not that we've eaten at many). But we love their fish tacos. It didn't disappoint. It was so pretty sitting on their covered patio on the bay. And we had fun feeding the fish afterwards. For dinner we ate at a place called Live Bait--barely even worth mentioning, lol. But Augusta did think their karaoke machine was pretty cool. 

Tuesday we also did the beach early--pretty much was our routine for everyday.  Augusta got itchy in the sand and had to go up with her daddy. It was about lunch/NapTime so Calla and I followed shortly. Then while my crew napped--mommy went back down to the beach. It was too pretty not to. 

That night we took our family pictures. The girls did great, for the most part. Either way, we ended up with some beautiful shots that I can't wait to frame. After our pictures we went on a shopkins hunt and grabbed dinner while we were out and about. 

The next day was another early beach morning, our last to actually be on the beach. The girls had a big time. Augusta went back and forth between ocean and pool. Calla had fun between and and ocean. They were getting super tired--it had been a big week. 

We left the beach early for lunch at lulu's. It was a nice restaurant. Again, we are on a covered deck on the bay. But this time it was such a hot day that lunch was still pretty steamy. The girls were like zombies while they ate--probably the most chill dinner out we've ever had! 

We napped then took pictures with my entire family that night. Again, we got some good shots. And it was nice to have two different sets of pictures. We also went out to dinner at another little restaurant. (Have no idea what it was called!)

The next morning it was time to head out. The girls were both ready to get home and have some play time. Augusta was saying that her toys missed her! On our way out, we stopped at the outlets and did a little school shopping. 

We had such a fun time at the beach! Mommy is ready to go back, but I think we may try a different venue next year unless the family is all wanting to go again. I think Augusta wants to visit somewhere different--she told me she doesn't want to go to the beach next year, but wants to go to an aquarium! Only time will tell! Until next summer, here's to you vacation! 

Kentucky Visit

So summer got busy in July and I haven't posted any of our fun things! My next two posts are going to be on our two summer trips. 

First trip of the summer was a visit with my sister and her husband in Lexington, Kentucky. The girls absolutely love their Aunt Lys and Uncle Brad, so they were pumped to visit. 

Our first day there we had a shopping expedition. Augusta was on the hunt for season 3 shopkins (her current obsession). After she and her daddy had struck out at two stores the night before, we finally found shopkins at toys r us. And boy did she find shopkins!! Next we had a yummy lunch and did more shopping at the mall. 

The next day was a big one. We traveled almost all the way to cincinatti, right on the kentucky boarder, to the Newport Aquarium. It was the girls' first time to visit and aquarium and they both loved it! Augusta's favorite things were touching the creatures (sea star and shark). Calla loved seeing all the big fish swim all around her. Both also loved the play area! 

The next day was time to head home. The visit was short, but it was wonderful. Plus, we knew we'd see them again in a week at the beach. Excited to visit kentucky again, and next time we'll be meeting baby Ethan!! Can't wait!!!!
