Tumble Time

Someone has started tumbling classes and she absolutely loves it! She gets so excited to go to her class and do flips (with assistance on a cheese mat) But it is beyond precious! 

They also stretch, dance, do mini-cartwheels (or bear hops), work on pre handstands (teeter totters) and just have so much fun! Well those are the skills they've tackled so far, I'm sure there will be more to come! 

Week one was a big success, Augusta stayed on the mat the whole time and was fully engaged, participating in all activities. Week two (this week) was a little bit of a different story. There were no tears, but she kept running off the floor to me and her daddy so we could brag in her. She'd go right back out, but she wouldn't stay too long before she had to run back. I'm thinking this is because we woke her up about 20 minutes before her class started (she took the longest nap yesterday!) So hopefully she'll be more fully engaged next week! (Since next week has come and gone and still hadn't posted--just had to say she did much better! Stayed out there the whole time and was even attempting flips and teeter totters by herself!!) 

Anyway, we love watching her have fun. And as long as that's happening, I don't care if she wants to come tell me about every little thing she does. She enjoys it, and loves our applause. Plus, she gets a lollipop at the end of each class, so I think she's pretty psyched about that! :) 

30 weeks!

Today we have 10 weeks left on the countdown to meet baby Calla! It's getting so close--I can't believe it! We also went for a checkup today! 

We did a growth ultrasound at the checkup. They confirmed that we are indeed having a little girl, so now to dive more into planning! Calla's heart rate was 132, her little heartbeat was so strong! She was also estimated to be about 3 pounds right now--she's in the 68th percentile for growth! Thats a little bit ahead, but I just keep thinking about how much their weight increases here at the end. She may be a bit bigger than her sister was! Dr. Harper is thinking the same thing, unless her growth levels off here at the end. I guess only time will tell. 

She is also still super active! She was moving around throughout the entire ultrasound and was kicking and the wand when it would press down on my belly. And she really hasn't stopped moving since, guess she's trying to get comfy! 

They also checked my placenta placement. It has moved some, but is still lying low. So low that ultrasound tech thought it was prob something they'd need to keep a watch on. Guess that means more peeks at baby! Dr. Harper wasn't as concerned as the tech though...she still thinks it may move. But she did say we'd look again at 36 weeks. 

So that's what's going on with our girl! So great to get good news! Just keep praying for a healthy little and that the placenta gets out of the way! :) 

And we're off!

We're almost a week into 2014, and so far life is going smoothly. 

I had my glucose test, to check for the possibility of gestational diabetes. And guess what? Passed that with flying colors! 77 fasting blood sugar--hour after drinking the sugary fruit punch (much better than the alternative of orange, I'm sure! Bleck!), it was back to 77! Yay me! Only downfall of that was getting blood drawn from my arm! Although when I came home, Augusta was sweet and wanting to see my "ouchie". She kept kissing it and saying "it's okay, Momma." Love my angel! 

Calla was good as well. Although her heart rate was pretty high from all the sugar--Dr. Harper said she was on a sugar high! My appointments are going to be coming more frequently now. (Yay for more baby updates, but boo for having to use my remaining days) And I go back the 15th for a growth ultrasound along with a regular checkup! Can't wait to see how much baby girl has grown! 

We have also started back school. So we're getting back into the swing of things. Second day for staff development and I'm so ready for the kids to be back! These days are usually so boring for me! They make me wish I was back home with my goo all day! But kids are back tomorrow and then we'll really be falling into our regular routine! 

In other semi-exciting news, we're having some of the coldest weather in years. High today is like 17 with windchills around or below zero. Low tonight will be single digits. Isn't supposed to get above freezing tomorrow either. Aren't you jealous? ;) This is not the MS weather I signed up for. Especially when there's no snow accumulation involved! 

Anyway, that's all I have! Not much but just wanted to give and update of what's been going on so far in the new year. Try to stay warm!! 

Happy New Year!

Looking back, 2013 was such a great year. One that was truly filled with blessings for me and my family. 

We saw close friends become parents. My sister got engaged! One of Chase's grandmother got remarried. We bought a house! My baby sister graduated high school and got a softball scholarship to college. We taught bible class for some sweet third and fourth graders at our church. We were able to vacation with both sides of our families, which hasn't happened in forever! 

It's been another year of watching our sweet Augusta grow and change. It's so incredible the difference in her from last year to this year. But she's still my sweet, loving little snuggler! I cannot wait to see how she handles spreading her love around to a baby sister! 

Most exciting of the year was finding out we would be expanding our family in 2014 with the addition of a sweet baby sissy. Little Calla will join us around March 26! Just 12 short weeks away, and we cannot wait!
